Tuesday, December 17, 2013 Shortly After 1000hrs on the 17th of December, Just a week before Christmas, Stations 4,3,2 and 5 were alerted for a dwelling fire at 110 Mallard Dr in the 4-3 Box. While en Route, PM4 advised that a column of smoke was visible from 304 and Spider Web Rd and asked that the Tanker Task Force be started. Shortly after, Engine 41 (Officer 402, Bloodsworth) Asked for the 2nd alarm. PM4 arrived on the scene to find a 1.5 story SFD with heavy fire showing from the C/D corner of the structure. C3 and E41 arrived with 301 (Nelson) establishing command. E41 laid LDH down the driveway and started to attack the fire from the exterior initially due to potential collapse of the roof. Once it was determined that it was safe to enter, E41 advanced the line inside and began to knock the fire. While extinguishing the bulk of the fire, it was noticed that there was fire in the attic area above the crews heads, so focus was turned toward the attic. After approx 30 Mins the bulk of the fire was knocked and units bagan the extensive overhaul operation. Units were on scene until approx. 1700 hrs assisting the FMO with their investigation.
